More Than a Safari

By booking safaris with us, you're not just embarking on an unforgettable adventure — you're also contributing directly to the well-being of locals.

Giving Back to the Community through Safari Adventures

Our main concern is to support the local population and to comply with Ugandan rules and tax regulations. We see ourselves not only as a tourism company, but as part of Ugandan society – with responsibility towards people and nature.

Every safari you book with us directly supports the communities we travel through. Not as a marketing promise – but as actually lived practice.

What We Do

Education as Foundation

School Sponsorships

We and former clients sponsor 5 children's education directly – 2 secondary and 3 primary students. Funds are sent to school accounts rather than families. We maintain contact with schools and share term reports with sponsors. We intentionally don't cover 100% of fees to encourage family contribution.

Support for Disadvantaged Children

Ishasha Children Care

Founder Dan supports unreached children including street children and orphans through education and vocational training in practical skills like sewing. The program emphasizes wildlife conservation education, connecting environmental health to tourism employment opportunities.

Fighting Malaria with Innovation

Sparkle Agro Repellent

A Makerere University student-developed mosquito repellent made from sour milk addresses Uganda's malaria problem while supporting dairy farmers. Farmers receive standard milk prices for spoiled milk, providing income security. We purchase one bottle per client as part of welcome gifts.

Paper from Elephant Dung

Elephant Dung Project

Led by women in the Kataara Women's Cooperative in Kichwamba, Uganda, this initiative addresses two challenges: farmers receive compensation for elephant dung (avoiding crop losses), while women transform it into handmade eco-paper products. We contribute at least $5 per trip to this project.

Responsible Tourism

  • Ugandan tax regulations are fully complied with
  • All national park fees are correctly remitted
  • Local guides and drivers are fairly compensated
  • We preferably use locally owned lodges and camps
  • Small groups protect nature and the gorillas
  • No mass tourism experiences – quality over quantity
  • Eco-friendly travel routes minimize carbon footprint
